MCM to provide critical moisture measurement technology in Belgium’s Hydrogen HyOffwind project

WETHERBY, ENGLAND – Moisture Control and Measurement Ltd. today announced its critical involvement in providing moisture process technology and guidance for Belgium’s flagship green hydrogen project, HyOffwind.

Located in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, HyOffwind will launch with 25 MW of electrolyser capacity, scalable to 100 MW, producing up to 14,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year using renewable electricity, including offshore wind.

Developed by Virya Energy, with Messer as industrial gas partner and John Cockerill Hydrogen supplying alkaline electrolyser technology, MCM will play an integral role in implementing its MicroView Mini Ex-d lineup as its moisture measurement solution.

Nigel Wallis, Director at Moisture Control and Measurement Ltd. said “Having already strong relationships with Messer, Virya Energy and John Cockerill Hydrogen, we’re delighted to be involved in providing our products and services to the HyOffwind project — driving innovation within Belgium’s energy market.”

MCM’s MicroView Mini Hygrometer is recognised for its fast response, high accuracy, and robust design, with a long mean service interval even in demanding industrial environments. Its ur solution will support compact size and simple operation make it a preferred choice for low-cost implementation, while providing excellent early warning of out-of-spec moisture conditions across hydrogen production and delivery systems.

MCM’s solution will support hydrogen quality control from production through delivery, helping ensure safe and reliable operation, compliance with gas network injection limits and high-purity hydrogen for industrial and mobility applications.

With first hydrogen targeted for 2026, HyOffwind is a major milestone for Belgium’s hydrogen economy — and MCM is proud to contribute enabling technology that supports safe, compliant hydrogen from production to end use.
